Knights Topple Cyclones as Jackson Shines
The Kingwood Knights defeated the Coney Island Cyclones, 5-3, at Stable Park. Kingwood catcher Carlton Jackson was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Miguel Padilla picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-4. Chris Bacon was tagged with the loss. Javier González finished the game for Kingwood and earned his 10th save.

With his team trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Kian Amphlett rose to the challenge. The Kingwood third baseman got hold of a slider from Chris Bacon for a 2-run home run. The round-tripper put the Knights on top, 3-2.

"We'll savor this win," Jackson told the Kingwood News, "then get ready for the next game."

Kingwood now sits in last place in the Buck O'Neil League Mariner Moose Division at 20-54.
