Cyclones Jolt Emeralds with Late Rally
The Coney Island Cyclones did just enough to secure a 7-6 victory over the Eugene Emeralds at Coney Island Coliseum. Nobody did more than center fielder Mitsukuni Ojima, who captured player of the game honors. Fu Yue got credit for the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The 5th-place Cyclones improved to 29-42.

In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 6-6, right fielder Han Frommel won it for Coney Island. With a runner on 2nd, Frommel hit a 1-2 fastball from Philippe Vincent for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 7-6 win.

"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Frommel said.
