Frosties Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Barrow got a strong outing from Takehide Sato as the Frosties defeated the Victoria Vikings, 5-2, at The drakkar. Sato, now 4-2, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 6, and allowing 1 earned run. Tokuhei Yano recorded his 9th save for Barrow.
Going deep for Barrow was Michael Pickersgill. The left fielder had a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth for the Frosties. It put his team ahead, 3-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Pickersgill went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Sato.
The second-place Frosties have won 4 straight.
