Winfield pitcher Ukessun Ilaes gave the Bloodhounds all they could handle, but in the end, Boise left The Barn with a 6-4 win. Ilaes allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits over 5.1 innings. Ross Batstone picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-4. Kevin Davis was tagged with the loss. Boise is now 29-37.

A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the seventh inning when the Bloodhounds sent teenager John Osborne to the plate against Warriors hurler Norberto Bianchi. With runners on 1st and 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a home run off a first pitch curveball to score 3.

"Good win for us," said Osborne. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
