Winfield Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
The first-place New Orleans Jedi Knights welcomed Winfield to The Republic.

New Orleans used a superb performance from starting pitcher Dao-zi Chou to down the Winfield Warriors, 3-0. Picking up the save was Yoshikazu Ichihara, his 4th.

One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning. Facing Winfield hurler Rich Steele, Tomás Garza, who is tied for 6th in the BOL in RBI with 40, reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run. The Jedi Knights went on to win.

Garza said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.

New Orleans has an impressive 43-17 record.
