Nozara Slugs Blue Claws to 7-1 Win
|
Baltimore shortstop Kazuhiro Nozara was instrumental in his team's 7-1 win over the Boise Bloodhounds. Nozara, who is tied for 3rd in the BOL in extra base hits with 24, went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Blue Claws. Baltimore reliever Eloi Gordo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jesús Espinosa was saddled with the loss. The Blue Claws, at 36-25, sit in first place in the Buck O'Neil League Mariner Moose Division.
Nozara had a key at-bat for Baltimore early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and gave Baltimore an early 2-0 lead.
Nozara called the win "a collective effort."
