The Victoria Vikings got a magnificent performance from pitcher Maurice Bignold, who muffled the Nichols offense en route to a tight 2-1 Vikings win at The drakkar. The save was credited to Jean-François Blot, his 4th. The Vikings' win now puts them at 22-32.

Victoria took the lead with two out in the bottom of the first when Pedro Moreno stroked a 2-run single. That made the score 2-0 in favor of Victoria. For the day, Moreno went 1 for 2 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.

"You can't take yourself too seriously," Moreno told the Victoria Gazette. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
