In a low-scoring game between the Eureka Hornets and the Kansas City Tornadoes, pitcher Morgan Tyson was masterful on the mound. The Eureka left-hander was named the player of the game in Eureka's 2-1 win. Kansas City's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The Hornets took the lead in the bottom of the third when Jorge Moreno banged a two-out home run. Eureka had been trailing 1-0, but Moreno hit a first pitch fastball from Mehmood Dar for a 2-run home run.
"Runs were at a premium," said Eureka manager Stephen Jackson.
