Eugene beat Winfield, 6-5. The win in part was due to center fielder Tameyoshi Okuda, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. James Woodard, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save. Eugene now owns a record of 28-26.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Winfield hurler Quang Thuan, José Rodríguez, who was drafted in the two round of the 2026 draft, hit a sacrifice fly. The Emeralds went on to win.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Winfield manager Alan Hall. "But we decided not to take it."
