5 Straight Wins for Bombers
|
The South Carolina Bombers defeated the Maple Marauders, 7-6, in Thurman Munson League action at Legends Park. Kiyonobu Yamasaki received player of the game honors. The 9-year veteran was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Ange Schmit picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-3. He struck out 6 in 6.1 innings. The South Carolina winning streak has now reached 5 games.
Baber Davi, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, helped out the South Carolina cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Davi. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
