St. Paul got a first-rate effort from pitcher Ju-ao Ru, who frustrated Victoria hitters en route to a 3-1 Saints triumph at Saints Ballpark. In 5 innings, Ru surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. St. Paul is now 30-20, 2 games up in the Buck O'Neil League Mariner Moose Division.
Laurent Besson's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant for the Saints. Coming to the plate with runners on 1st and 2nd and St. Paul leading 2-1, the first baseman hit a run-scoring single.
