New York starter Ronald Lee turned in a competent performance at Sick's Stadium as his team beat Seattle, 6-4. Lee got the win, improving to 4-6. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Lee allowed 4 earned runs. Kunihiko Mizuno picked up the save, his 14th.

New York took a 6-4 lead on Mike Bowles's 36th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Bowles hit in the top of the ninth, left Seattle pitcher Greg Ward shaking his head.

"Ronald was throwing strikes, locating well," said New York manager Roberto Campos.

New York is now 26-28, Seattle 21-32.
