|
Glenn Dempsey was instrumental in his team's 7-4 triumph over the Coney Island Cyclones. The right fielder was 2-3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Charleston Panthers. Charleston is now 16-31, Coney Island 20-27.
Dempsey contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Charleston in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Dempsey took a fastball from Subaru Ohayashi and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Panthers to leap in front, 3-2.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Dempsey told a Charleston Observer reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
