Emeralds Need Extra Frames to Get Past Panthers
|
Po-sin Pang was superb against Charleston. The right-hander, who is tied for 6th in the BOL with a 12.2 K/9 rate, had a slider that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 5-4 Emeralds victory. Eugene is now 25-19.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th, Mark MacBurie delivered the knockout blow when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to win it for Eugene. In the contest, MacBurie was 2-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Tom Becker, the Eugene skipper. "This one tested us."
