Panthers Topple Emeralds, 7-4

Getting a good performance from second baseman Daw Kamade, the Charleston Panthers defeated the Eugene Emeralds, 7-4. Kamade was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Panthers. Francisco Zúñiga earned the win to go to 2-1. He allowed 2 earned runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Shusui Ojima recorded the save for Charleston, his 3rd of the season.
There was more than one reason the Panthers beat the Emeralds, but Kamade's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 4-1 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.
"I had a good game," said Kamade. "Winning makes it even better."
Even with the win, the Panthers have a dismal 14-29 record.
