Jedi Knights Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The New Orleans Jedi Knights did just enough to sneak past the Coney Island Cyclones, 5-4, at The Republic. New Orleans pitcher Tagashashi Ueda earned player of the game honors. Ueda, the winner, moves to 5-3. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The Jedi Knights, at 27-13, lead by one game in their division.
Bhavsar Jayasurya contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat that propelled New Orleans to the win.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Ueda. "But I like how we're playing right now."
