The Baltimore Blue Claws got a rain-soaked win over the Nichols Gnats at The Pond.
Larry Sloan made an impact in the 9-5 Baltimore win over Nichols. Sloan, who is tied for 2nd in the BOL in bases on balls with 32, was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Jérémy Thomas got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Gnats to 3 runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 2.
Going deep for Baltimore was Yo Luo. The shortstop had a 3-run home run in the top of the first for the Blue Claws. It put his team ahead, 3-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Luo went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Nichols manager Stanley Martin.
Nichols now has a 5-game losing streak.
