Tae-kyun Kim did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Victoria Vikings from losing, 5-4, to the Charleston Panthers at Franklin Mountains Field. Kim went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Naozane Kato in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Katsuyuki Takeda took the loss. Charleston currently is in last place in the Buck O'Neil League Mariner Moose Division at 12-26.

Charleston took a 5-3 lead on Mark Kachmar's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Kachmar hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Victoria pitcher Daniel Smith shaking his head.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Victoria manager Charles Luce.
