Extra-Inning Win by River Chiefs over Bloodhounds
The Chippewa River Chiefs did just enough to secure a 7-6 victory over the Boise Bloodhounds at The Reservation. Nobody did more than pitcher Juan Martínez, who captured player of the game honors. The win was credited to George Fortin Jr. in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Mitsuzuka Nakano took the loss. Chippewa is now 23-16, while Boise is 17-22.

Chippewa right fielder Yan-hao Lao changed the game in the bottom of the tenth when he belted a 2-run home run off Mitsuzuka Nakano. His 4th home run of the season gave Chippewa a 7-6 lead.

"It was a test of wills," said Bruce Leah, the Chippewa skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
