Frosties Pick Up 9-4 Win
|
The Barrow Frosties grabbed a 9-4 win over the Coney Island Cyclones at Coney Island Coliseum. Barrow first baseman Denzel Drewry went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 to earn player of the game honors. The Frosties improved to 19-18.
Late-game drama came in the top of the eighth inning. With one out and the bases loaded, the batter, Michael Pickersgill, hit a grand slam. It helped Barrow seize the win.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Pickersgill told the Barrow Times.
