Saints Suffer 5-3 Setback
|
The San Angelo Mustangs picked up a win at Saints Ballpark, knocking off the St. Paul Saints, 5-3. Starting pitcher Murdoch Beach, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Their 21-13 record puts the Mustangs second in the Buck O'Neil League San Diego Chicken Division.
One of the key players for the Mustangs was second baseman Mennac Matojo, who drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning. For the game, Matojo was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Matojo told the San Angelo Daily News.
