Knights Walk Off with 3-2 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Kingwood Knights and the Baltimore Blue Claws, pitcher Mike Carlson was the difference between victory and defeat. The Kingwood right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 Knights win. Kingwood, now 12-19, is off to a slow start.
In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 2-2, pinch hitter Yukio Hayakawa won it for Kingwood. With the bases empty, Hayakawa hit a first pitch curveball from Tim Stady for a solo home run, giving his team a 3-2 win.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Carlson said.
