Hornets Solve Tornadoes, 4-2
|
The Eureka Hornets got a stellar performance from pitcher Paul Barrett, who handcuffed the Kansas City offense en route to a 4-2 win at The Nest. Andrés Nevárez got the save, the 18th for him this season. After today's action, Eureka sits at 28-24, while Kansas City falls to 25-26.
Also making an impact was right fielder Carlos Hernández, who drilled a 2-run single in the bottom of the third inning for the Hornets. For the game, Hernández was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI.
Hernández attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
