|
Getting a good performance from right fielder Misao Fujii, the New Orleans Jedi Knights defeated the Nichols Gnats, 7-2. Fujii went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Jedi Knights. Dave Munier, the winner, improved to 2-0. He held Nichols to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. En-guo Guan recorded the save for New Orleans, his 1st of the season.
Tomás Garza went 1-3 with a walk against the Gnats. In the bottom of the first inning, he hit a run-scoring single, putting New Orleans in front, 1-0.
"I believe in our guys," said New Orleans skipper Mathew Thomas. "I like the energy they're playing with."
