Parker, Panthers Too Much for Warriors
|
The Charleston Panthers relied on the hitting of first baseman Robert Parker to stop the Winfield Warriors, 6-3. For the game, Parker slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Howard Ryding got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Kevin Spurr got the save, the 7th for him this season.
Parker had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the third inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Panthers went on to win.
"Nice to get this one," said Parker. "Wins have been hard to come by."
The Panthers, now 9-20, have not found much traction so far in 2028.
