San Angelo Mustangs starter Murdoch Beach was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Charleston Panthers, 6-3. Reliever Mauro Navarro picked up the win. His record improves to 4-0. Tetsuzan Ichihara took the loss. The Mustangs raised their record to 16-8.
It could have been a different outcome for San Angelo, had it not been for Odilon Barata, the 20-year old center fielder . Barata contributed a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the sixth inning to put San Angelo up, 4-3.
"This team is real focused right now," said San Angelo Mustangs manager Dave Callahan.
