Panthers Go Down to Defeat, 5-4
|
San Angelo starter Kunihiko Morita had a strong outing against the Charleston Panthers at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-4 win. San Angelo reliever Marcos Colón was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Nate Chapman took the loss. Katsuhito Ohashi was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Had Jean-Bernard Chenu not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Chenu hit a grand slam. That made the score 5-1, in favor of the Mustangs.
"Both teams played hard," said San Angelo manager Dave Callahan.
The loss lowers the Charleston record to 7-15.
