Bloodhounds Best Blue Claws in Pitching Duel

Baltimore wasted a solid 5-inning effort from starting pitcher Lourenço Russa, losing to Boise, 2-1, at Old Bay Park. Boise reliever Zong-ming Yen picked up the win to move to 2-0. Lourenço Russa suffered the loss. The Blue Claws fall to 10-14 and continue their lackluster start to the 2028 season.
In the top of the 4th, the Bloodhounds grabbed the lead when Ángel Flores rapped a two-out single. Boise was trailing 1-0, when Flores hit a 2-run single off Lourenço Russa to put his team in front, 2-1.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Flores.
