Caro Powers Gnats to 8-2 Win
The exploits of first baseman Rafael Caro, who is tied for 5th in the BOL in RBI with 19, helped the Nichols Gnats defeat the Coney Island Cyclones, 8-2. Caro was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Jim Unknown was credited with the save for Nichols, his 1st of the season. The Gnats have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 8th win in 23 games.

Caro had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the third, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Gnats went on to win.
