Warriors Suffer 6-4 Setback
|
The inspired effort of Winfield third baseman Toshiharu Takuda was not enough to prevent a 6-4 loss to the New Orleans Jedi Knights. Takuda went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ross Astbury was called on to finish, recording his 4th save. The win brings the Jedi Knights to 14-10, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Had it not been for Jim Unknown, the results might have been different. In the top of the seventh inning, when the Jedi Knights were trailing 4-3, Unknown hit a 3-run home run for New Orleans, giving his team the lead.
In postgame comments, Unknown told the New Orleans Herald: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
