The Chippewa River Chiefs picked up a win at The drakkar, knocking off the Victoria Vikings, 7-4. Starting pitcher Willi Kehr played a key role in the triumph. It was the 14th win in 19 games this year for the defending champion River Chiefs, who are picking up where they left off.

A key moment came in the top of the ninth inning when River Chiefs center fielder Jim Unknown socked a 0-1 sinker to right-center for a 2-run double, putting Chippewa up, 5-4.

In comments to the Chippewa Daily News, Unknown insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
