Vikings Squelch Kingwood Offense in Shutout Win
|
Right-hander Jeff Duff mesmerized the Kingwood Knights while leading the Victoria Vikings to a 6-0 victory. Duff, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. The Knights fall to 6-11 and continue their uneasy start to the 2028 season.
Reynaldo Núñez struck a blow for the Vikings in the bottom of the fourth when he hit a 2-run home run. It put his team ahead, 2-0. For the game, Núñez went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Duff crowed after the game.
