Panthers Take Down Bloodhounds, 5-3
|
The Charleston Panthers beat the Boise Bloodhounds, 5-3, at Franklin Mountains Field. Charleston right fielder Glenn Dempsey earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Morihiro Hashimoto got the win, improving to 2-2. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. The Bloodhounds fall to 8-9 and continue their wobbly start to the 2028 season.
Dempsey contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Charleston in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 3-1, Dempsey took a slider from Juan Romero and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Panthers to leap in front, 4-3.
In postgame comments, Dempsey told the Charleston Observer: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
