Turner Shines in River Chiefs Win
Doug Turner was instrumental in his team's 8-5 triumph over the Nichols Gnats. The catcher was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Chippewa River Chiefs. Josh Hunt nailed down his 1st save. It was the 12th win in 17 games this year for the defending champion River Chiefs, who are picking up where they left off.

The River Chiefs got a big at-bat from shortstop Esteban Ramos. For the game, Ramos went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Chippewa a 5-4 lead.
