Mustangs Beat Jedi Knights, 4-3
|
San Angelo beat New Orleans, 4-3. The win in part was due to center fielder Jayden Punchardon, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI. San Angelo reliever Carlos Riscado picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Tagashashi Ueda was collared with the loss. Marcos Colón finished the game for San Angelo and earned his 1st save.
Punchardon came through for San Angelo with one out in the bottom of the fourth. With San Angelo trailing 3-1, Punchardon hit a bases-clearing triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Mustangs up, 4-3.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said San Angelo manager Dave Callahan.
The loss lowers the New Orleans record to 10-6.
