The St. Paul Saints picked up a win at Prefontaine Park, knocking off the Eugene Emeralds, 5-4. On the mound for St. Paul was right-hander José Chávez, who played a pivotal role in the win. Callum Warner got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. Taheiji Ohayashi was called on to finish, recording his 9th save.

Gilles Petit made it 5-3 in favor of St. Paul when he delivered a 2-run home run. It came with two out in the top of the tenth. The Saints went on to win.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Petit. "Just do my job."

The Saints, now 13-5, have hit the ground running this season.
