Frosties Stymie Baltimore, Take 3-1 Win
|
Manuel Cortéz pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Baltimore Blue Claws, despite Cortéz's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Barrow Frosties at Old Bay Park. Tokuhei Yano picked up the save for Barrow, his 4th of the year. The Blue Claws fall to 7-10 and continue to sputter in the early going.
The Frosties beat the Blue Claws in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Lúcio Sánchez produced in the top of the fifth. Batting against Baltimore pitcher Manuel Cortéz, Sánchez gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring double.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Sánchez.
