Warriors Stick Cyclones with 8-3 Loss
|
The Winfield Warriors defeated the Coney Island Cyclones, 8-3, at Coney Island Coliseum. Winfield center fielder Denzel Kemsley was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2-5 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Armando Hernández was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. The Cyclones fall to 6-11 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2028 season.
Trailing 1-0, Winfield had a change of fortune in the top of the fourth inning. That's when Jonathan Reynaud sent a 1-1 changeup into the stands for a 2-run home run. The longball put the Warriors on top, 2-1.
