Kingwood had no answer for Boise Bloodhounds hurler Jesús Espinosa, who overwhelmed Knights hitters as the Bloodhounds coasted to a 8-1 victory. The winning pitcher was Espinosa, now 1-2. He tossed 5.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Katsunan Kondo earned the save, his 1st.

Clive Staniforth didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring single to put Boise on top, 1-0.

Said losing manager Rodger Raymond: "Give the Bloodhounds credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."

The Knights fall to 5-8 and continue their uneasy start to the 2028 season.
