Panthers Win at New Orleans, 6-3
|
The Charleston Panthers knocked off the New Orleans Jedi Knights, 6-3, at The Republic. Carl Parks, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Charleston won. The pinch hitter was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Kevin Spurr picked up the save, his 4th. The loss lowers the New Orleans record to 10-5.
In a game filled with surprises, perhaps none was as big as Parks's contribution. The Charleston pinch hitter is a relative newcomer. With one out in the top of the seventh, when the Panthers had runners on 1st and 2nd, Parks delivered a crucial 3-run home run.
"Winning never gets old," said Parks.
