The Victoria Vikings wasted an impressive 6.1-inning effort from starter Virisimo Antona, falling 2-1 to the Nichols Gnats at The Pond. The win pushes Nichols to a record of 5-8.

Rafael Caro was a key contributor to the win for the Gnats. In the bottom of the sixth with two out, the light-hitting first baseman stroked a single to left. He went 1-3.

"We were in it," said Victoria manager Charles Luce. "We just didn't score enough runs."
