Great Day for Hirose in Knights Win
The Kingwood Knights downed the Nichols Gnats, 14-5, at The Pond. Katsumi Hirose led the way, going 2-for-4 for Kingwood. The win was credited to Jules Jacquemin in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jorge Salazar took the loss. The Gnats, now 4-8, continue their poor start.

There was more than one reason the Knights beat the Gnats, but Hirose's big at-bat in the top of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 4-0 lead when he hit a grand slam.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Kingwood Knights manager Rodger Raymond. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
