The South Carolina Bombers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Oliver Romero, who stifled the Maple offense en route to a 2-1 Bombers win at Legends Park. Romero got the win, improving to 3-4. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Romero allowed 1 earned run. Anupradana Agarkar closed the door for South Carolina, picking up his 14th save of the year.

In the top of the 6th, designated hitter Fernando Castillo gave South Carolina the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The Bombers had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out home run off Maple pitcher Robinson Pedercini changed that -- and South Carolina went on to win.

"I was a little disappointed," said Maple manager Arinori Nakamura. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

The Bombers raised their record to 25-24.
