Mustangs Clip Cyclones in Tight Contest
San Angelo right-hander Kunihiko Morita made an effective start against the Coney Island Cyclones at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium, leading his team to a 9-8 win. The Cyclones fall to 4-8 and continue their lackluster start to the 2028 season.

A decisive at-bat came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Ichiyo Murakami, hit a sacrifice fly. It made the score 9-8, San Angelo, and helped them go on to win.

"I liked his command," said San Angelo manager Dave Callahan. "Kunihiko was throwing strikes."
