Blue Claws Come Back Late to Clip Emeralds
Baltimore starter Jérémy Thomas pitched effectively against the Eugene Emeralds at Prefontaine Park. The right-hander led his team to a 6-5 win. Tim Stady got credit for the save for Baltimore. It was his 1st of the year. The Blue Claws are off to a tough start, getting just their 4th win in 11 games.

Larry Sloan had the most critical at-bat for Baltimore. With two in the top of the ninth inning, Sloan hit a first pitch fastball from Jim Unknown for a run-scoring single. It put Baltimore in front, 6-5.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Thomas.
