The exploits of third baseman Yang Xing helped the Charleston Panthers defeat the Coney Island Cyclones, 5-1. Xing was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. The Panthers have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 2nd win in 8 games.
Early in the game, Xing had a run-scoring single for Charleston. It was his 9th hit of the season and put the Panthers on top, 2-1.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Charleston Panthers manager Todd Hall. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
