Panthers Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
|
The 2028 season began for the Chippewa River Chiefs with a loss to the Charleston Panthers at The Reservation. The final score was 5-3. Charleston center fielder Roy Ladd earned top player honors. Kevin Spurr sewed up the save, his 1st.
Charleston took the lead in the top of the sixth when Ladd hit a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season made the score 5-3, Charleston.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Ladd. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
