Mustangs Walk Off with Win
The San Angelo Mustangs put one in the win column with an opening day 3-2 triumph over the Victoria Vikings. The crowd at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium watched Clay Melsom put on a fine performance, for which he was named player of the game. San Angelo reliever Beau Miller picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Joe Edwards was collared with the loss.

The Mustangs were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when center fielder Ricardo Morales turned a 2-1 curveball from Joe Edwards into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave San Angelo a thrilling 3-2 win.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Melsom said.
