|
Coney Island right-hander Naoki Okada made an effective start against the New Orleans Jedi Knights at Coney Island Coliseum, leading his team to a 4-3 win. Gwang-oo Han was credited with the save for Coney Island, his 1st of the season. The loss lowers the New Orleans record to 1-1.
Coney Island took the lead in the bottom of the seventh on a big hit from Henry Amesbury. On a 1-0 fastball from Tagashashi Ueda, Amesbury hit a 2-run single. That made it 4-2, Cyclones. For the day, Amesbury went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI.
"We found a way to get it done," Amesbury said.
