Saints Spoil Opening Day for Warriors, Their Fans

The Winfield Warriors inaugurated their 2028 season with a tough 5-4 loss to the St. Paul Saints at The Barn. Starting Pitcher Masazumi Ohayashi was named player of the game for St. Paul. St. Paul reliever Hyeon-san Yi was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Tam Bilh took the loss for Winfield.
This game was not decided until late. With two out in the top of the ninth, José Pérez hit a run-scoring single. The Saints took the lead, 5-4.
"Good to get a win," said Ohayashi, "but it's a long season."
